| Rusty Hardin Highlighted as One of Texas' Top Five Commercial Litigation Attorneys |
| November 28, 2007 |
HOUSTON - Accomplished trial attorney Rusty Hardin once again has been tabbed as one of the state's top attorneys by Texas Lawyer newspaper. Mr. Hardin is recognized as one of the top five commercial litigation attorneys in Texas Lawyer's "Go-To Guide," published in October 2007.
Texas Lawyer's "Go-To Guide" is published once every five years and highlights five attorneys in each of 29 different practice areas. This marks the second such honor for Mr. Hardin, who was recognized in the inaugural 2002 "Go-To Guide" as one of the top five civil litigation defense attorneys in Texas.
"It is good to know that people recognize the success our firm has had on the commercial side," says Mr. Hardin. "Because of the nature of our criminal defense work, it might be easy for folks to forget the other work we do. I'm glad to see that hasn't happened."
Mr. Hardin's practice is a diverse mix of approximately 80 percent civil trial work and 20 percent criminal trial work. Clients have been as varied as Arthur Andersen in both its civil and criminal cases; ExxonMobil; Rice University; the Houston Texans; and various professional athletes.
In one of its higher profile commercial cases, the firm represents Las Vegas Sands Corp., the owner of the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas, in a number of contract disputes concerning the establishment of the company's Macao resort operations. Macao is a Special Administrative Region of China and is the only location in China that permits casino gambling. The Sands Macao was the first Las Vegas-style casino to open in this region and is located in the heart of Macao's gaming district.
To develop the "Go-To Guide", Texas Lawyer editors interviewed hundreds of attorneys across Texas, asking them who they would go to based on firsthand knowledge if they needed representation in particular practice areas.
In Mr. Hardin's profile in the "Go-To Guide," one attorney interviewed by Texas Lawyer said, "Rusty is hands down the best trial lawyer that I have ever seen. He can handle cases from simple to complex."
